Context: ILT and VILT training for personnel action processing
Audience: Federal government employees inside and outside of HR
Purpose: Teach personnel action procedures accurately and efficiently
Tools Used: Vyond, Xyleme CMS, generative AI
This project required me as the instructional designer to design a comprehensive course and supporting videos on processing personnel actions in federal government agencies. I needed to collaborate closely with the SME while managing feedback from multiple stakeholders, including product managers, a project manager, and an editor. Additionally, I had to verify complex procedures independently to ensure compliance with the Guide to Processing Personnel Actions (GPPA). Balancing iterative feedback with development deadlines added complexity to the project.

I used a feedback log like this one to collect and adjudicate feedback from stakeholders.
These screenshots are from a Vyond video showing how a delayed HR personnel action left a federal employee unexpectedly in debt, highlighting the importance of meeting processing deadlines.
The final course and accompanying videos enabled a clear, accurate, and engaging learning experience for federal government learners. Multiple feedback cycles ensured content quality and alignment with organizational standards. The final materials were approved by all stakeholders and successfully implemented as part of the organization's training product offerings.
